Your legs should be at a 90-degree angle or less and your knees should be bent to about 45 degrees.

2. Seated Spinal Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana)

This is one of the best yoga poses for mindfulness because it helps you to let go of tension in your lower back and feel more present. Sit on the ground with both legs stretched out in front of you. Bend your right knee, and place your right foot on the ground beside your left thigh. Then lift and twist a bit to your left, so that the outside edge of your left foot rests on top of your right calf muscle, near the knee. This is called the "plank pose".



 

 3. Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana)

Forward folds are a great way to start or end a yoga session, and they're also a fantastic way to release tension in your shoulders, chest, and back. Once you're in the starting posture, bend forward from your hip joints, reaching your hands toward the ground as you do so. Then allow your hands to slide down the outside of your legs until you reach the floor. If you feel any discomfort in your knees, keep them slightly bent.
